What does low-T mean?
Low-T is a slang insult used to describe a person, behavior, or attitude as being weak, effeminate, or timid. It is frequently used by people identifying as conservative, as a means of insulting men viewed as being insufficiently manly.
Examples of low-T
Like much of conspiracy conservatism, it began on message boards where various alt-right activists gather. There, being “low-T” has become the ultimate insult, alongside other masculinity-challenging burns such as “cuck”, “soyboy” and “beta”.

In particularly prickly corners of MAGA world, a low-blow way of dissing the men you despise — often left-leaning guys with a fondness for empathy, equality, even democracy — is to charge them with having low levels of testosterone. Take Elon Musk, who a while back reposted a screed about how “low T” men can’t think freely because they “can’t defend themselves physically.”

I said, “Hey Xx96Rogue96xX. We should try to go to capture B together. I’ll lay down some cover fire while you get the flag.” He — sounding slightly pubescent — shouted over the headset, “You are a Low-T Beta Cuck!”

Where does low-T come from?
The word is borrowed from an abbreviation found in medicine: in clinical contexts, low-T (or low testosterone) refers to male hypogonadism, a condition in which the body produces insufficient testosterone.
How is low-T used?
The word is still used medically, to describe having lower than average levels of testosterone. In this manner it is diagnostic and neutral. However, when used outside of medical contexts is tends to be employed insultingly, and with intent to belittle.
